Acceptable Use Policy
1. Introduction
This Acceptable Use Policy (“AUP”) is a legal agreement between you (“BC InfoSec Club Member”) and the InfoSec Club at Bellevue College (“BC InfoSec Club”) regarding your use of the PROXMOX virtual machine servers (“Resources”) provided by the BC InfoSec Club. By signing this agreement, you agree to comply with and be bound by the terms and conditions set forth below. If you do not agree to these terms, you are not permitted to use the Resources.
2. License Grant
The BC InfoSec Club grants you a non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the Resources solely for educational and non-commercial purposes in connection with your participation in the BC InfoSec Club’s activities.
3. Acceptable Use
You agree to use the Resources only for lawful purposes and not infringe the rights of or restrict or inhibit their use and enjoyment by any other user. Prohibited activities include, but are not limited to:
- Engaging in any form of unauthorized hacking or penetration testing.
- Using the Resources to host, store, or distribute any illegal, infringing, or harmful content.
- Using the Resources to pirate or torrent.
- Performing any activity that could damage, disable, or impair the Resources or the network infrastructure.
- Sharing your access credentials with others or using the Resources for commercial purposes.
4. User Responsibilities
You are responsible for:
- Maintaining the confidentiality and security of your access credentials.
- Ensuring that your use of the Resources complies with all applicable laws and regulations.
- Reporting any security vulnerabilities or breaches to the BC InfoSec Club immediately.
- Using the Resources does not violate the ethical standards of the information security profession.
5. Limitation of Liability
The Resources are provided “as is” without any warranties, either express or implied. The BC InfoSec Club does not warrant that the Resources will be uninterrupted or error-free. In no event shall the BC InfoSec Club be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising out of or in connection with your use of the Resources, even if advised of the possibility of such damages.
6. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless the BC InfoSec Club, its officers, members, and advisors from and against all claims, liabilities, damages, losses, or expenses arising out of your use of the Resources or your breach of this AUP.
7. Termination
The BC InfoSec Club reserves the right to terminate your access to the Resources at any time, without notice, for conduct that it believes violates this AUP or is harmful to the BC InfoSec Club or any other user. Upon termination, you must cease all use of the Resources.
8. Amendments
The BC InfoSec Club reserves the right to modify this AUP at any time. Any changes will be effective immediately upon posting of the revised AUP. Your continued use of the Resources after posting changes will constitute your acceptance of them.
9. Governing Law
This AUP shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Washington state in which Bellevue College is located, without regard to its conflict of law principles.
10. Entire Agreement
This AUP constitutes the entire agreement between you and the BC InfoSec Club regarding the use of the Resources and supersedes all prior agreements and understandings, whether written or oral, relating to the subject matter hereof.
